first thing I have to do from this blog is to thank Ecosport Club organization. Today we lived a celebration of sport in Avila, a party with a bunch of Avila Athletics people from other provinces. Already said the other day and today I have seen this: no one was missing (Well, almost nobody, Olivares, Roberto, Julio ...). Those who have run were not in the organization or between numerosísimo public.
I particularly want to thank once again, to Ecosport athletes who have been without running so that others can do it. Is a dual effort that we recognize all who have been in the race.
Guys, look what was difficult, but you have overcome. Congratulations.
I also want to thank Soto. Why? I was walking from the car, with his hands full of things and licking the tip of Santa Teresa that I "Gobbled up" at the end, when I heard the public address Soto (who acted as speaker of the race, as so often) announce the arrival of Mercedes. I do not remember his exact words, but have been very exciting to hear the recognition to her for returning to competition. Soto knows all of us. It takes a long time as a sports journalist (sports, no football fan) and knows a lot about this. His words were full of affection who suddenly disappeared from racing. Among the string of riders who were coming, knew how to spend a few seconds of attention Mercedes, a word to her heart and I appreciated more. Thanks Soto.
Does career? Fantastic. A high level. A great day for racing with a splendid sun (at five in the evening closed in the fog on Avila. We were saved by little). Very good people running very quickly, even though the journey was not easy, heavy and irregular, but very nice. People have come out happy. The Soto Park can accommodate a very high level cross. Many world class crosses the organizational level do not meet or a track like this.
As for my race, I finished very happy because I had a great time. I have not been very good from the point of view of competition. I missed some strength and I must admit, some push to fight some more. The second round I have found it very long. However I am satisfied with the result, 56 of the veteran general and 9 B, with a time of 31 '47''.
